One of the items, which certainly highlights Biograd as a destination is the vicinity of 5 National Parks and Nature Park. The nearest to town is Nature Park” Vrana Lake”, which is the largest natural lake in Croatia. With over 200 species of water birds (over 100 are nesting on the lake's location) it represents a very important destination for all bird lovers. Krka National Park is located in the nearby Sibenik - Knin County, with its seven travertine waterfalls and beautiful nature is a destination that leaves you breathless. For all adventurers and mountaineers, there is the National Park Paklenica with peaks over 1700 m! At sea, which is incredible pure and transparent, there are two parks, one is Nature Park Telaš?ica that stands out with three phenomena, the first one is the safest Adriatic port, the bay Telaš?ica, the second one are amazing cliffs that rise up to 200 m above the sea and descend in depth of 90m, and the third paragraph is the salt lake Mir with medicinal properties in which the endemic species eels called "Cayman" can be found. National Park Kornati is located on the south of Telaš?ica. It is world famous destination with over 80 islands and rocks and was recently declared the most beautiful archipelago in the world!
